Artist Walk and Talk Wyndham Harbour

Following on from the Create [Space] residency at Wyndham Harbour, I shared what I found regarding the suitability of certain native plant fibres for papermaking with the public. Some of the grasses resulted in paper that worked well for drawing and the more textural fibres worked well for papier-mache projects. The talk also included an informative walk with Wyndham City council's Environmental Education officer who explained the adaptive characteristics of the plants used during the residency as well as their importance to local ecosystems and migratory birds. Talk attendees were also able to test the paper themselves.
