Create [Space] Wyndham Harbour x Wyndham City Council

An interest in native Australian plants, in particular those of Victoria's volcanic plains west of Melbourne, recently led to the planting of my own native garden. While exploring which plants to include in the garden, I became aware that many of these plants display characteristics that make them suitable for paper-making. As a result, I chose to focus on exploring the paper-making potential of these plants during the Create [Space] residency at Wyndham Harbour. Wyndham Harbour management gave me permission to collect fibres from the native plants in their landscaping to process into paper. I found that many of the plant fibres resulted in beautiful papers with a diverse range of colours and textures, with potential for use in a variety of art techniques and mediums.
