Common Threads

Caring for the Earth and each other involves the knowledge that we are connected. We are part of nature and are woven into our communities through our connections. We are vessels filled with stories, carrying our experiences within us, and are connected by the thread of our common humanity. The vessels in this artwork have been inspired by forms and patterns found in nature and constructed from handmade paper made from plant fibres and dyes collected from the backyards of friends, neighbours, and my local area, representing a small reflection of my community and the natural home it inhabits.
